Spring Break Ideas for East Texas and the Golden Triangle
KOA Brookeland Offers Charming Cabins on Lake Sam Rayburn
Are you looking for a fun Spring Break idea this year?
How about a getaway to Lake Sam Rayburn with the whole family?
KOA Brookeland makes a great “home base” for you to discover all Sam Rayburn has to offer.
My wife doesn’t love to tent camp, so we usually choose one of their luxurious cabins.
RV Sites and lovely tent camping sites are also available.
The last cabin we stayed in had room for my whole family and even some cousins who were spending the week with us.
We had four beds and a cool loft area that all the kids wanted top sleep in.
The week flew by.
My youngest was obsessed with trying to catch the largemouth bass in the ponds on-site at KOA Brookeland. We saw other guests catching big catfish and perch.
Most nights we cooked dinner on the fire pit in front of our cabin. We had steaks, pork chops, Zummos Party Time links, and other family favorites.
We did have a couple of meals at some of our favorite spots around Sam Rayburn:
- Rayburn Country Club “Timbers on the Green”: Not crowded at lunch and great ambiance.
- The Stump: Great for breakfast or burgers.
You’ll love KOA Brookeland and Lake Sam Rayburn.
