Many local children have been involved in organizing Southeast Texas See You at the Pole activities.
The program has been around for twenty-five years, and it has really gained momentum locally the last few years.
See You at the Pole is unique in that the children schedule and coordinate their own event. They get the word out and lead prayer at a flagpole of their choice – often a flagpole in their neighborhood or at their Golden Triangle school.
- See You at the Pole 2016
- Wednesday, September 28
- Location – you choose a flagpole near you! There will be dozens of events across Southeast Texas.
All around the globe, in every time zone, Christian children will gather at flagpoles praying for their school, family, friends, churches, and communities.
The idea is to give children a role of ownership in their prayer life and to recognize their own power to organize and effect positive change.
Southeast Texas See You at the Pole events have taken place at dozens of locations including Jasper Junior High School, Community Christian School in Orange TX, Lumberton High School, and a number of Beaumont campuses.
Many local Southeast Texas churches host special services, called “Saw You at the Pole” on Wednesday evening recognizing the children in the congregation and community who have been involved in Golden Triangle See You at the Pole Activities. There is often a fellowship meal as well.
Is your child interested in organizing a Southeast Texas See You at the Pole Event? They can get advice from their pastor or youth minister. If they start organizing now, your SETX church will probably include the information in their bulletin and on their website. Many will also add the event to Facebook.
Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram can be effective tools for promoting Southeast Texas See You at the Pole events. Your child can create a Facebook event so that their friends can confirm they will attend and invite others.
