St. Anne’s Catholic School in Beaumont
A Strong Foundation in the Sciences
Saint Anne’s has always been known for providing well rounded students. Part of this has been implementing engaging science programs that prepare students for high school, college, and for life after school.
Science Curriculum 1st – 5th Grade
St. Anne recently adopted and implemented a new science curriculum for first through fifth-grade students, McGraw-Hill’s Science: A Closer Look. This curriculum offers exciting and accessible standards-based lessons, engaging activities that promote curiosity, and the development of science inquiry skills.
Science Curriculum 6th – 8th Grade
Glencoe’s iScience engages the interests of sixth- through eighth-grade students with interesting features and thought-provoking questions that encourage students to relate the science concepts to the world around them. The inquiry-based lesson cycles provide active, hands-on explorations of these concepts. Through a consistent and structured science learning cycle, students confidently build upon their experiences to develop a lifelong understanding of science theories.
JASON Project for 4th – 8th Grade
Fourth- through eighth-grade teachers are trained for instruction and implementation of the JASON Project, a middle-school science program designed to motivate and inspire students to pursue interests and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. St. Anne students have the opportunity to have hands-on experiences and participate in interactive, web-based Jason Project lessons.
